Jessica Shappelle
Captain Jessica Shappelle joined the Madison Township Fire Department in 2020 and currently serves as Captain. She has advanced through the ranks as Training Officer, Lieutenant, and Captain, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership and professional development.
Jessica is a certified Paramedic, EMS Instructor, CPR Instructor, ACLS Instructor, and ASLS Instructor. She also serves as a proctor for the Greater Miami Valley EMS Council, overseeing both written and practical EMS testing since 2022. Her dedication to patient care and education has earned her recognition, including a Life Saving Award (2022) and EMS Employee of the Year (2023).
Her healthcare career began in high school as a Candy Striper at Mercy Hamilton Hospital and has spanned roles in assisted living, hospital care, and fire departments across the region. She has served in various capacities including Firefighter EMT, Paramedic, and Instructor at agencies such as The Village of Millville, Ross Township, Whitewater Township, UC West Chester, Cincinnati Children’s Emergency Department, And Butler Technology.
Jessica earned her EMT certification from Butler Technology in 2004, Firefighter I from Scarlet Oaks in 2005, Paramedic certification from Bethesda North in 2008, and EMS Instructor certification from Scarlet Oaks in 2017.
